CASE STUDY: Rapid response saves bottling plant from costly downtime

When a national beverage bottling plant faced a critical breakdown due to an overheating servomotor and gearbox, they were looking at a worst-case scenario, at least a week of downtime and a staggering cost of £10,000 per hour.

By 1 pm on Wednesday, the Fife branch had collected the faulty unit and arranged same-day transport via taxi to the repairer in Washington. There, the issue was quickly assessed, and a repair plan was agreed upon. Less than 24 hours later, by 1 pm on Thursday, the unit was fully repaired and en route back to the customer. It arrived by 5 pm and was refitted that same evening, slashing downtime and eliminating the need for an expensive replacement.
