How do sound pressure meters work?
It is widely accepted that any change in the level or type of noise created by machinery is an early indication of a problem. For example, it could be that a component has become loose, causing excess vibration.
A sound pressure meter measures the sound levels of machinery in decibels, allowing faults to be detected before they cause a major issue. A microphone detects the noise, which is then processed by the handset.
If the noise is deemed to have changed from the last reading, the engineer can then act on this information, proactively rectifying the issue before it causes a major problem.
