New SKF extreme temperature bearing operates at 350°C without re-lubrication
SKF has announced the introduction of a new Extreme Temperature Bearing. The new bearing features a graphite cage which lubricates the bearing up to temperatures of 350°C - without the need for re-lubrication.
The new Extreme Temperature Bearing will be a particularly powerful solution in the metal industry, allowing operators to cut maintenance costs, boost reliability and improve product quality by replacing conventional grease lubricated bearings with the new SKF extreme temperature bearings.
In hot, dry environments where machinery rotates slowly, grease lubricated bearings can often fail when temperatures exceed 250°C as even special greases lose their ability to lubricate effectively above these temperatures. SKF’s Extreme Temperature Bearing addresses this, operating at temperatures up to 350°C offering a significant increase in bearing service life.
