Self-aligning ball bearings are unique in that they are double-row radial bearings, and can’t be separated. 

They run cool, and are self-centring, thanks to their outer ring, within which the rows of balls are able to rotate in parallel. This functionality makes them excellent for dealing with alignment errors between the housing and shaft, which can be a common issue with mounting and machining.

Self-Aligning Ball Bearings are available in various designs, including open, sealed, tapered bore c/w adapter sleeve and also an extended inner ring version with special bore tolerances for applications employing commercial ground shafting.
