Cooper was established by Thomas Cooper, an inventor and engineer. In 1894 Cooper bearings began manufacturing in King's Lynn, Norfolk, where it still manufactures high quality split bearings today. After producing some of Thomas' inventions, the company turned its attention to the ground-breaking split bearing that Thomas Cooper had designed back in 1907. The split bearing quickly became a global success.
